Agnosis is a community-run home for independent artists. You email your work, AI gives it a clean presentation — a title, a description, tags, and alt text — the community decides who joins, and your art appears here and across the open social web (the “fediverse”). There are no dashboards to learn, no algorithm deciding who sees you, and no ads.

How it works

• You email your artwork, a biography, or an event — no account or upload form needed.
• AI writes the parts you leave blank: a title suggestion, a description, tags, and alt text. Your own words, wherever you give them, always come first.
• Existing members vouch for newcomers; the community decides who joins.
• Your work is published here and delivered to your followers on the fediverse.

How we use AI — and what it won’t do

Handing your work to an algorithm can feel uneasy, so here is exactly what happens, with nothing hidden.

• Writing, not judging. AI reads your email and image and writes a title suggestion, a description, tags, and factual alt text — grounded only in what you actually sent, never invented.
• Photo correction, only when needed. If a photograph has a technical problem — blur, poor lighting, heavy noise — that gets in the way of seeing the work clearly, AI may correct that problem alone.
• Never the artwork itself. Colours, textures, composition, and every artistic choice you made are preserved exactly. This is treated as a camera-and-lighting fix, not an artistic edit — and a well-photographed piece is never touched at all.
• Your call, always. Send through the photo-only lane at any time and your image is published exactly as sent, with no automatic correction whatsoever. The Artist Guide explains how.

Owned by its members

The community admits new members, can vote to part ways with one, and even votes on how large it grows. Agnosis is a commons, not a platform — small and human by design.

You can leave whenever you like and take everything with you. No lock-in, ever.
